Hi! I’m Megan, and I’ve been there.

When I was pregnant with my second child, I hired a professional coach to help me “hack my brain” because I felt like it was really broken this time. I wanted my “old” brain back. As I began to explore mom brain and research what was going on with me, I realized that this type of coaching didn’t exist yet.

This is why I created Focus Like A Mother™. I wanted to help other moms in my same situation realize that there is nothing wrong with them or their brains. Now, as an ICF ACC certified coach, I help moms who feel scattered, alone, and/or overwhelmed understand what’s really happening and real life strategies that help.

Parent Focus Coach Megan King created Focus Like A Mother and developed the Parent Brain Type Quiz because fellow parents deserve support to embrace their new reality and THRIVE.

Everyone calls it “mommy brain.” But here’s what I want you to know: your brain is not failing. It’s adapting. That’s not a pep talk- that’s neuroscience.

When you take this mom brain quiz, I’ll help you understand YOUR unique profile and send you strategies that work in real life.

The Real Facts Behind “Mom Brain”

What many dismiss as “mom brain” is actually your brain going through something pretty remarkable. Your brain is reorganizing around your new priorities. Those moments of fog, or forgetfulness, are often your brain pausing to decide what matters most.

I learned this the hard way when I left my midnight nursing snack out on the counter instead of in the fridge… throwing away yet another container of dip. And every morning, my first thought? “Get it together, Megan. Why can’t you remember to put the dip back in the fridge?!”

I’d gone from being really successful, keeping it all together, organized, and on task, to barely being able to keep myself together, let alone the house, the family stuff, and the kids’ ever-changing schedules and needs. And forget about having a moment for myself or getting to pee in private.

That pressure, the daily failures, and constant overwhelm kept me from being the best version of ME—as a parent, wife, individual, and human. It wasn’t until I took a deep dive into coaching psychology and mom brain research that I found hope, clarity, and most of all: a new version of ME.

Here’s what I learned on my journey:

  1. Pregnancy and parenthood trigger natural changes in the brain that span generations
  2. Your brain adapts to rapidly become what your baby needs—from protecting them to understanding what their cry means
  3. These fundamental changes enhance your ability to read emotions, detect threats, handle multiple priorities, etc.
  4. What feels like “fog” is often your brain pausing to prioritize what truly matters most (keeping your tiny human happy and thriving)
  5. These lessons and strategies stay with you—supporting you in work, relationships, and life far beyond the baby years

Even more frustrating: The invisible mental load of coordinating everyone else’s needs while your own go unmet compounds the exhaustion. Your brain is adapting beautifully—but you’re probably also carrying more than you should have to.

Most moms never learn to take advantage of these changes.
They just fight them, feel frustrated, and wonder if they’ll ever feel capable again.

That’s why I created The Mom Brain Type Quiz!

Take your power back by finally understanding what your brain is trying to do. I am so proud of you for taking this quiz and giving your brain the support it deserves. Because YOU deserve to thrive!
